After Facebook and Twitter, President Donald Trump has lost another mouthpiece on social media.

The video platform YouTube has blocked Trump's channel.

The blockade is valid for at least a week, the company told the US broadcaster "CNN".

Accordingly, a video was uploaded on the channel with more than 2.7 million subscribers that »incites violence«.

The corresponding video has been removed.

After the storm on the Capitol, YouTube was the only major social media platform to date that left Trump's accounts untouched.

During the riots just over a week ago, supporters of Trump stormed the seat of the US Congress, five people were killed.

Critics accuse Trump of instigating the mob to attack the Capitol at a rally.

Shortly afterwards, Facebook blocked the current US President's website.

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg had announced that he would block the US president's private Facebook account "indefinitely, but at least for the next two weeks" - at least until Trump's successor Joe Biden is in office.

During the same period, Trump will no longer be able to post on Instagram, which belongs to Facebook.

A little later, Twitter also switched off its private channel, the deletion is permanent.

Almost 89 million people followed Trump on Twitter, his channel had around 35 million subscribers on Facebook, and almost 25 million users followed the president on Instagram.

Two more "strikes" pending

The blocking on YouTube is moderate in comparison.

The blockade does not mean that Trump will no longer be able to use the channel in the future.

Only the uploading of new videos is suspended, older videos are still available.

After the one-week blocking period, YouTube wants to decide whether Trump can regain access to his account.

The video platform works in a step-by-step process.

Anyone who receives a first "strike" is blocked for one week, and a second "strike" is blocked for two weeks.

The YouTube account is not permanently blocked until the third strike.

According to the company, Trump received his first "strike" for the video that has now been deleted.
