The head of the Israel Police's operations department, Lt. Gen. Yishai Shalem, said today (Thursday) that the police will tighten enforcement of corona regulations over the weekend.

"During the week, we increased the number of reports by 30% and in the activity against insulators. We set up checkpoints and acted in front of crowds. There were two exceptional incidents that were dealt with vigorously," said an entire lieutenant colonel.
He said, "Over the weekend we will look at the same pattern again and expand enforcement.
We will return to a complete checkpoint format, when starting at midnight, 12 checkpoints will be set up on intercity roads, and dozens of checkpoints within the localities in accordance with the districts' considerations in each locality.
"From tomorrow at 6 in the morning, 25 checkpoints will be set up on the long-distance routes until 11 at night, in addition to dozens of checkpoints in the localities."
The police are asking the public to hurry up and be equipped today with what is needed for the weekend.
"We constantly check the state of traffic, including from the air. At the weekend, the air system will be activated mainly to detect violations in nature / parks.
On Saturday night a situation assessment will be made, and we will make decisions for next week.
