Last September, during his re-entry speech in Thessaloniki, Kyriakos Mitsotakis surprised by announcing the acquisition by Greece of 18 Rafale * fourth generation.

Since then, the Greek Prime Minister has wasted no time in finalizing the interstate agreement with France.

He personally supervised the progress of the procedure, to possibly alleviate any bureaucratic obstacle.

The Greek deputies thus ratified yesterday, by majority, the agreement for the acquisition of six new aircraft and twelve used, property of the French air force.

They will replace the Mirages acquired by Greece almost twenty years ago.

This purchase is part of Greece's arms budget, which represents 2% of GDP, one of the highest in the European Union.
