For the first time since the signing of the Abrahamic Accords, a zoom conference was held tonight (Thursday) between the energy ministers of Israel, Morocco, Sudan, Egypt, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The historic conference was held following a successful meeting last month in Abu Dhabi between Israel's energy ministers, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and the United States. Leading the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF).
The meeting was attended by the Israeli Minister of Energy, Dr. Yuval Steinitz, the American Minister of Energy, Dan Broight, the Egyptian Minister of Energy, Tarek al-Mulla, the Minister of Energy, Emir Suhail Muhammad al-Mazroy, the Minister of Energy, Muhammad bin Khalifa bin Ahmad, the Moroccan Minister of Energy, Aziz Raba. And Sudanese Energy Minister Khoury Abdel-Rehavman.
At the conference, the ministers held a joint dialogue in the areas of oil and natural gas, electricity, energy efficiency, renewable energies, research and development.
The ministers discussed how the relations between the countries could revolutionize national security, economic prosperity and the introduction of content in peace agreements, including investments in research and development in the field of energy, infrastructure deployment and technology.

There is no doubt that the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum in Cairo, which I initiated about two and a half years ago, is now paving the way for further collaborations in renewable energy, research and development, as well as the possibility of connecting electricity networks in the near future.
