The municipal council in Lechbruck may oppose the petition against the hotel plans at Lechsee.
The committee will decide on this in the next meeting.
The citizens' initiative (BI) finds it “strange”.
Lechbruck - The sparrows have been whistling from the rooftops in the Lech community for a few days.
And Mayor Werner Moll could see positive aspects in a request for a council, he now confirms on request.
In his opinion, the local council would send a clear signal that he, too, wants to let the population vote on the project.
On top of that, the committee could position itself clearly in the council request: "We are the elected representatives, we want the hotel," said Moll.
The question the local council is asking would be easier to understand
And the mayor sees another advantage: the question that the town hall asks would be more simply formulated for citizens who are not so familiar with the subject.
As reported, the question of the citizens' initiative turns out to be quite cumbersome: "Are you in favor of the fact that the municipality of Lechbruck am See does not create any planning requirements for the planned new hotel building on the upper Lechsee and therefore the development plan procedure for the project-related development plan no. 2, special area hotel on the upper Lechsee 'as well as the amendment procedure to the zoning plan in the area of the development plan no. 2, special area Hotel am Ober Lechsee' is discontinued and not pursued? ”If you do not want the hotel, you have to answer the question with“ Yes ”.
Moll is of the opinion that because of this, one or the other could inadvertently vote differently than he wants.
On the other hand, the question in the request for a council would be formulated positively: Those who want the hotel answer with “yes”, those who follow the stance of the citizens' initiative tick the box with “no”.
In a referendum, two crosses would have to be made
In the decision on March 21, the citizens would have to vote once on the question of the BI and a second time on that of the municipal council.
Moll would see the question of the community as a "key question".
The decision is expected to be made next Tuesday
The municipal council will presumably decide at its meeting on Tuesday, January 19th, whether this will happen.
According to Moll, the effort for the council request would be limited.
No signatures have to be collected, "a simple majority in the municipal council is sufficient".
Citizens' initiative assumes that the municipal council will stick to its decision
The citizens' initiative is irritated.
BI member Alexander Pfanzelt had only heard rumors of a possible request for advice until yesterday, he said on request.
He would find it "strange if that is done afterwards," said Pfanzelt.
The BI informs in writing about the content of the possible request for advice "we cannot say anything, as we are not aware of any content".
“However, we assume that the church will stick to what it has decided.
Anything else would be difficult or impossible to understand for the community citizens. "
A 30 million euro investment is at stake
As reported several times, the decision on March 21 is about a 30 million euro investment.
The municipality would like to sell the approximately three hectare property on the Lechsee between the holiday village and the campsite for 2.5 million euros to the investor Gerhard Breher.
He would build the four-star wellness hotel, and the Lerch family of hoteliers would run it.
By the way, Lechbruck would have two ruins off his neck if he went about it.
The investor wants to demolish and dispose of the former indoor swimming pool and tennis hall on the site at its own expense.
The citizens' initiative “Hotel NO Thank You” fears, among other things, additional traffic and, in the long term, a sell-out of their homeland.
