The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health stated yesterday (14th) night that in view of Yan Shek House, Shek Yam Estate, Kwai Chung, there have been 5 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1 preliminary confirmed case, involving 3 units of Room 09 on different floors. The Center for Protection is investigating whether the infection of the case is related. The Center for Health Protection inspected the relevant floors and units of Renshi Building yesterday afternoon to investigate and examine whether the infection of the case has environmental factors.
After consulting experts, it was decided to take prudent infection control measures before the relevant departments completed inspections of the building’s pipes.
The Department of Health will issue quarantine orders to asymptomatic residents of Unit 09 on all floors of Renshi Building (i.e., floors 1 to 40) and arrange for them to stay in a quarantine center.
If residents develop symptoms, they will be sent to hospital for treatment.
In addition, the government will quote the "Prevention and Control of Diseases (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulations" ("Regulations") (Chapter 599J), requiring persons who have been in Renshilou for more than 1 year between January 1 and 14. Those who are 2 hours old (including but not limited to residents, visitors and staff) must undergo the COVID-19 nucleic acid test on or before January 17.

At around 3 am today (15th), at least two government-leased tourist buses arrived off Renshilou one after another. Medical staff were wearing protective gowns to assist. Many residents of Room 09 boarded the tourist buses and went for quarantine. .
As far as the scene can see, the residents are sitting very open on the tourist bus, with at least 2 to 3 seats separated by each person.
It is reported that residents will stay in quarantine hotels.
In addition, an ambulance of the Auxiliary Medical Service was also on alert. At least one male resident was suspected of developing symptoms.
The resident was accompanied by his family and sent to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
6 people in Unit 3, Renshi Building, Shiyin Village, are diagnosed and live in Room 09 and must be quarantined
