The Protestant parish of Kochel will be relocating many services from the Kochler Church to the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Haus in Benediktbeuern in the coming weeks. Pastor Anna Ammon announced this.

The Protestant parish of Kochel will be relocating many services from the Kochler Church to the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Haus in Benediktbeuern in the coming weeks.

Pastor Anna Ammon announced this.

Kochel am See / Benediktbeuern - "Except for the last Sunday of each month, all services are celebrated in Benediktbeuern," says Ammon.

The rule initially applies until March.

The reason for this is that there is more space for visitors in the Bonhoeffer House, and that there is better heating and ventilation there.

In the Kochler Church it has just become too tight recently, Ammon said.

According to the applicable Corona regulations, there is space for 20 to 25 believers.

"We can accommodate ten more people in the Bonhoeffer House."

The pastor is currently supervising a confirmation course with twelve young people.

They and their families would like to attend church services frequently and with pleasure.

“They also come mainly from Benediktbeuern and Bichl.

That's why the space fits very well. ”There is also a small organ in the Bonhoeffer House.

In addition, volunteers would repeatedly accompany the church service musically with guitar, flute or violin.

“My fellow pastors, the Binder couple, are also very involved here,” says Ammon.

Regulation applies until March - church is only used on the last Sunday of the month

Singing together is currently forbidden in church services.

That is understandable, but a shame, says Ammon.

“That's when you first notice how important singing is to people.” The services are therefore very verbose.

"Of course you try not to let it get too long."

Especially at Christmas, Ammon reports, the services without singing were "very hard" for the believers.

Two services were held in Kochel, namely outside in the parish garden.

“We bought a new microphone system ourselves.” There was also a nativity play, music from the barrel organ and a solo singer.

50 people had registered beforehand.

Church life difficult

It is currently not possible to maintain the usual community life.

“Everything was canceled in adult education, and the confirmation course is also canceled,” reports Ammon.

Before Christmas she had had a little online party with games with the teenagers.

“That was nice, but in no way does it replace personal contact.

Youth work is really difficult at the moment, ”says the pastor.

It looks similar in the senior sector.

Who's birthday is called, and the anniversaries receive a greeting card.

The senior group cannot take place.

"We try to keep in touch by phone." This also applies to the church members in the Schlehdorf senior citizens' home, where a corona outbreak has been known to have occurred.

Consideration: to conduct a senior group online

However, Ammon is pleased that many home-living seniors are well integrated with their families and / or the neighborhood.

"Everyone is sad that you can't meet, but there is great understanding." You want to think about doing the senior citizens' group online now.

“But I don't know if it will work.

I suspect many have no end device. ”Ammon also hopes that there will soon be light at the end of the Corona tunnel.

As soon as meetings are possible again, the usual offer will be resumed.

"Until then, we'll try to make the best of the situation."
