The Sparkasse Foundation distributed around 12,000 euros to four projects in the second half of the year.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

In addition, due to the effects of the corona pandemic, all outstanding and new funding commitments will be extended by one year, says the foundation manager Wolfgang Schachtner.

The aim is to meet the funding partners unbureaucratically and in partnership in these difficult times.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is planned for June or July.

The following projects are funded:

Eugene Pope Association

In the past six months, the Friends of the Eugen-Papst-Schule Germering was awarded 1,640 euros for the “Digital Inclusive!” Project.

The joint project of the Eugen-Papst-Schule and the Primary School South in Puchheim aims to create an exchange through inclusive cooperation.

Together, the children should acquire technical, analog and digital knowledge.

Another important goal is to strengthen the personality of young people.

Landscaping

The landscape care association receives 5000 euros for the project "Moor renaturation and the tote ice kettle educational trail in the Türkenfeld community forest".

On the one hand, it is about the renaturation and revitalization of highly endangered raised bog habitats that are threatened with drying out.

A continuously wet bog surface is to be established here and the typical raised bog vegetation with peat moss is to be promoted.

This is how carbon dioxide is bound in the peat.

On the other hand, the project aims to promote acceptance of environmental education and moor renaturation among the citizens.

After all, the raised bog is a rare habitat.

They want to set up information boards and make the nature trail accessible to the general public with different age groups.

People should be made aware of how to deal with nature and the environment.

Kreislehrgarten

The district association for horticulture and land maintenance is supported with 3000 euros.

This is intended to improve the range of environmental education in the Adelshofen teaching center.

In the district teaching garden, citizens can find out more about all the essential questions of horticulture.

There are demonstration plantings as well as practical and theoretical courses for young and old. With the planned “open classroom with roof” one hopes for a significant improvement of the offer due to the existing weather independence.

Cultural Association St. Rasso

Fourth, 2500 euros go to the St. Rasso Grafrath cultural association to support artists.

The pilgrimage church of St. Rasso is not only the second largest church in the district with a very special meaning, it is also characterized by great acoustics, which are extremely valued by musicians and singers.

This gave rise to the idea that soloists and small ensembles would make music in Sunday services during pandemic times.

This would make "cultural offers" possible within the permitted framework of church services and the cultural spectrum in the region would be enriched.
