The Starnberg SPD wishes for environmentally friendly energy generation at the Untere Mühle in Mühlthal.
In an application, she asks the city administration to examine the establishment of a hydropower plant.
Starnberg -
Instead of the previous system, the SPD is proposing a modern underwater power plant (also shaft power plant), as the municipality of Gräfelfing an der Würm would like to realize.
"The construction and operation could be done by the Stadtwerke Starnberg to be founded," writes parliamentary group leader Tim Weidner - with reference to an SPD application from mid-December - to Mayor Patrick Janik.
The Würmtal-Zweckverband, previous owner of the mill, and the SPD expect construction costs of around one million euros.
The historic pump house, the Francis turbines from 1912 and a special centrifugal pump could become a special attraction for hikers and cyclists.
The project could also support the city's application as a showcase for hosting the State Garden Show 2030.
The SPD proposes the motto: "Starnberg Garden and Water Worlds".
A new hydropower plant as a contribution to the energy transition would be the second plan for the Untere Mühle.
As reported, Franz Kaiser wants to buy it, move his coffee roastery "Wiener's" there and run a museum café.
However, he is still waiting for the award from the Würmtal Zweckverband.
The SPD welcomes Kaiser's plan, the city must "actively support it," said Weidner.
