There was an outbreak in Yau Tsim Mong District, and the situation in the "Miao Street Epidemic Area" on the newly reclaimed street was particularly serious.

Following a total of nearly 30 people diagnosed at No. 20 to 26 Reclamation Street, "Hong Kong 01" General Department of Health data found that there are signs of spread of the epidemic in Yau Ma Tei and Jordan. Starting this week, there are at least 10 adjacent tenement buildings. Residents are recruited, and all of them are within 10 minutes away from No. 20 to No. 26 of Reclamation Street.

The reporter visited and inspected today, and found that there were many sub-houses in the affected buildings, most of which belonged to the "three-nos" buildings. Some of the buildings’ pipes were stained and even masks were hung.

In just about two hours, the reporter has witnessed at least 10 neighbourhoods who did not wear masks. Most of them were elderly. There were also men urinating in the back alleys of the epidemic building and the pipes in the tenement buildings.

There are also many tenement buildings in the vicinity of No. 20 to 26 Reclamation Street.

The star mark indicates the location of the building where the reporter has visited and recorded a confirmed case.

There are a total of 28 confirmed patients in the "Miaojie Epidemic Area" and one initial positive case.

There was a major outbreak at Nos. 20 to 26 Reclamation Street in Yau Ma Tei. Due to the interconnection of buildings, the authorities announced a compulsory quarantine order early this morning. So far, at least 79 households have been quarantined.

In fact, there are two buildings across the street from the Chinese mansion involved, and residents of two buildings have been diagnosed, including 168 Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei and 151 Temple Street.

The two buildings are adjacent and geographically close. During the reporter's interview, if no one urinates by the back alley in the middle of the two buildings, a man urinates near the mouth of the building.

The man did not wear a mask and did not clean his hands afterwards.

The back alley was also suspected to be a litter black spot. The FEHD set up a "sky eye" there to monitor the surrounding situation with a video camera.

From 120 to 124A on Temple Street where the confirmed case occurred, the Buildings Department attached a notice at the main entrance, stating that the external drainage pipe of the building was defective and urged repairs.

Within two hours of the reporter's visit, it was found that at least 10 neighbourhoods were not wearing masks, most of them were elderly.

Buildings Department's External Drainage Pipe Repair Order Received at Temple Street Epidemic Building

Walk two blocks forward to 120-124A Temple Street, and there will be another confirmed "epidemic building".

The Buildings Department attached a notice at the main entrance stating that the drainage pipe on the exterior wall of the building was defective and urged to repair it.

From the outside, there are at least 6 air conditioners on the first floor of the building. It is believed that the tenement building is full of sub-units, and the back ladder leading to the back alley is enclosed by wooden boards at the exit, and the back alley hygiene is not very satisfactory. A foul smell appears.

Nearby buildings are also lined with subdivided houses. Some tenement houses also received mail from the Buildings Department requesting repairs to the external wall drainage pipes. In another building, Feng Sister stood at the door to do business. If there is an outbreak, I believe it will increase tracking of close contacts Difficulty.

Within two hours of the reporter's visit, it was found that at least 10 neighbourhoods were not wearing masks, most of them were elderly.

The reporter found that there were masks hanging outside the pipes of the building, and the pipes were also smudged.

"Jade Street" two Chinese buildings are recruited by "Sanwu Building"

Another epidemic building is located at No. 46 Battery Street, only two minutes away from No. 20 to No. 26 Reclamation Street where the compulsory quarantine order was issued. The reporter found that a mask was hanging outside the pipe of the building.

The epidemic also spread to "Jade Street". On the section of Canton Road at the intersection of Nanjing Street and Saigon Street, two Chinese buildings were recruited in succession, including No. 577 Canton Road and No. 514 Canton Road. Seven of them were infected in the former, including Four of the 3-year-old boy and 1-year-old baby girl were close contacts of the Central Kowloon Route Group.

Notices in Chinese and English issued by district councilors were posted at the entrances of the two buildings to remind residents of the confirmed cases.

In addition, the reporter found that no official announcement of the confirmed diagnosis has been seen in the other conspicuous places in the epidemic tenement.

According to information from the Civil and Municipal Affairs Bureau, none of the above-mentioned tenement buildings have established owners' corporations, and they are believed to be "three-no buildings".

A total of 7 residents at No. 577 Canton Road were diagnosed, and some district councilors posted bilingual notices to remind the residents.

The Director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Centre for Health Protection, Zhang Zhujun, said today that among the cases in Yau Tsim Mong District, a total of 81 cases were confirmed in the past two weeks.

She continued that most of them are South Asians, mainly Nepalese.

In addition to family members, there are also gatherings with friends living nearby. The authorities will strengthen health information education in the district.

As for the transmission channels, she speculates that there may be many reasons. Many of the pipes in the sub-districts involved may not be standard. There are many communities and even building management may not be good, and the cleanliness problems are more serious.
