The Turkish regime's security forces have arrested a married couple under the pretext of their connection to the preacher Fethullah Gülen, whom the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan accuses of being behind the coup attempt in the country in 2016.
The Anatolia News Agency, a spokesman for the Turkish regime, quoted a source who refused to be identified as saying that the Ankara Metropolitan Police Forces tracked down the couple, who had been searched since 2017, and arrested them in Istanbul.
The husband was a professor of physics while his wife was a teacher of philosophy before they were fired after the coup attempt.
Since the failed coup attempt in July 2016, the Turkish regime authorities have launched a severe crackdown targeting Erdogan's opponents and opponents, as tens of thousands of people were arrested and dismissed in various civil and military institutions in the country.
