The Garching city council wants to continue to meet in full strength.

At least until the 7-day incidence exceeds 200.

Garching

- As long as the 7-day incidence does not exceed the 200 mark, the Garching city council wants to meet at full strength.

Mayor Dietmar Gruchmann (SPD) had in mind its ability to act in his proposal to transfer all responsibilities of the city council to the holiday committee for the duration of the disaster.

Even if the current incidence in Garching is 100, "we should take precautions so that we can continue to act," said Gruchmann, who was also based on the action of the district council with this requirement.

The holiday committee in Garching, like the building, planning and environmental committee, is made up of 14 people (four each from the CSU and SPD, two each from the UG and the Greens, and one each from the FDP and UG).

The administration argued that it was sensible and legally permissible to make the corona-related responsibility of decision-making committees dependent on the exceeding of a certain incidence value.

The same should apply if the incidence exceeds 200.

"We keep our distance and wear masks"

For Florian Baierl (UG), the disaster is not a criterion: "The city council may not say goodbye here until further notice." Bastian Dombret (FDP) also pleaded for an incidence to be used as a basis, but not for a disaster that was arbitrarily determined by the executive.

Hans-Peter Adolf (Greens) does not see this measure as necessary for the two city council meetings in January and February.

"We city councilors come to the community center on foot or by bike and therefore not by public transport," he said.

"Here we keep our distance, wear the mask and also have very good ventilation." The incidence values were also not correct, as it recently turned out.

Only Jürgen Ascherl (CSU) voted for the administrative proposal.

As a basis for convening the meetings, Gruchmann will now focus his attention on the number of cases and make decisions in lively exchange with the parliamentary group chairmen.
