The 41-year-old man, who admitted the facts, was arrested on Tuesday.
He is suspected of having smuggled narcotics, including cannabis and cocaine, meat, alcohol and cell phones to detainees since January 2019. He was on trial immediately.
Convicted several times for acts of violence, he explained that he was a drug addict and user of cannabis.
According to his lawyer, he "
has fallen behind the situation
."
The court cited "
the gravity of the facts
" to explain his placement in custody but asked that he not be placed in detention in Fresnes, where he works, and that he be able to benefit from a cell without a fellow detainee.
Affected by a report for several weeks, according to a local union source, this supervisor had been in prison for about five years.
During a search, drugs and phones were found in his apartment located on the site of the penitentiary center, said this source.
An intermediary, a man in his thirties suspected of having supplied him with this merchandise between May and August 2020, appeared alongside him in Créteil and was also placed in pre-trial detention.
He was already locked up in connection with another case.
Contacted by AFP, the prison management did not react immediately.
