The fire of a bulldog in a barn in Hausen near Wildsteig caused a major alarm for the fire brigade on Thursday evening.
Because the farmer reacted quickly, there was no worse accident.

- The emergency call came in at the control center shortly after 4 p.m.
Because the reported fire had bad fears, the alarm was widely spread, says district fire chief Manfred Baum.
When the Wildsteiger fire brigade arrived on site in Hausen, however, they quickly gave the all-clear.
Other weirs could turn around on the approach.
The farmer reacted quickly after a tenant on the property saw smoke rise from the barn.
"I went straight in with the fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire on the Bulldog," he reports when asked by the local newspaper.
When that didn't work, he pulled the tractor out of the barn with the help of another bulldog.
The arriving fire department finally put out the cable fire.
The farmer was very relieved.
Had the fire not been discovered so early, "the barn would certainly have burned down."
