The company decided "WhatsApp" to suspend updating its policies on saving users' data, which sparked widespread controversy and prompted many users to abandon the application.
"WhatsApp" indicated in a statement today that users will not be subject to blocking or deleting their accounts on the application by February 8, as previously announced, and users will be able to learn about the new policies until May 15.
"WhatsApp" said that it will not provide information about the location of the user or his contacts to "Facebook", adding that its recent update includes "transparent information" about how the application collects and uses the personal data of users.
WhatsApp’s plans to update its privacy policies have raised concern among many users, as it was previously announced that the “WhatsApp” application would share information with other Facebook products with the aim of “improving the work of the services provided by the company.”
With the exception of users in the European Union and Britain, users were informed of the need to accept the new policies or remove the application by February 8.
