With the participation of 41 teams from various Syrian “governmental and private” universities and educational bodies, the tenth national final of the Syrian Programming Competition for Universities “SCPC” was launched today, which is organized for the year 2021 by the Syrian Virtual University and the administration of the Syrian software competition.
The national final is the most prominent scientific event among the Syrian scientific university activities, according to Dr. Khalil Ajami, President of the Virtual University of SANA, as it includes the elite university students who are programmers, trainers, and Syrian academics working in the field of informatics indicating that this year it will be held in a new way and remotely through the global competition platform “Online “As a result of the health conditions imposed by the Corona pandemic.
Dr. Ajami explained that the Syrian Virtual University has agreed with the regional and international bodies supervising the competition, based on the academic accreditation of the examination centers, that the competition be conducted remotely and at the same time from the examination centers of the university scattered in the governorates to take advantage of what it possesses in terms of “surveillance with cameras and mechanisms for controlling and security of information that allow to guarantee reliability The competition, its transparency and its smooth running from a distance.
Dr. Ajami pointed out that the competition is supervised by the referees committee and regional representatives and the Syrian administration of the competition from the central observation hall at the headquarters of the virtual university located in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research indicating that the competing teams qualify according to their results to the Arab regional competition and then to the world.
Each team participating in the competition consists of three members and a trainer, and the team works on one computer to solve a set of life problems programmatically during five continuous hours, where the first place is awarded to those who succeed in solving the largest number of problems in the shortest time.
