The organization of the Australian Open (February 8-21) announced this Saturday that the passenger of a flight carrying the players and their coaches from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne has tested positive for Covid-19.
There were 64 people on the plane, including 23 players, who were placed in fourteen upon arrival.
This is the second flight affected by the coronavirus.
Other players scheduled to participate in the tournament were placed in quarantine for two weeks after two other people tested positive for Covid-19 in their plane on the Los Angeles-Melbourne flight.
These players will therefore not be able to take advantage of the five hours of daily training initially planned for the first round of the Grand Slam year.
