According to the fire and rescue organization, the 102 hotline received a report of a fire that broke out in the apartment in which they were trapped.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene of the fire, which took place on Yehuda Halevi Street in the city, began searching for trapped people under a heavy blanket of smoke, and eventually found the man lifeless.

Medics and paramedics from Magen David Adom determined the man's death.

MDA paramedic who arrived at the scene, Hoodia Rosa, said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the apartment burning and the fire brigade acted on the scene to put out the fire. When we entered the apartment, we saw the man who was unconscious with severe burns all over his body. He was without signs of life and we have no choice but to determine his death. "
