Damascus-Sana
The Syrian Astronomical Society called on astronomers and space enthusiasts to see the phenomenon of the brightness of rare earths today, Saturday, immediately after sunset.
In a statement to SANA’s delegate, Nabil Al-Bish, a member of the Society’s Board of Directors, affirmed that the opportunity is ripe to discover the rare phenomenon of (Earth radiation) that can be seen with the naked eye, as it is inverted at the edge of the new, slender crescent.
Al-Bish explained that the radiation or brightness of the earth is defined as the dim lighting reflected from the surface of the earth as a result of the sun's rays towards the dark side of the moon, also known as (the moon's gray glow). Illuminated by the moon that faces us.
The Aconite indicated that this dark part should not be confused with the dark side of the moon, which is always far from the earth, where the rest of its round shape can be determined despite its appearance in a very thin form as well.
Al-Bish pointed out that this astronomical phenomenon is also called “the new moon in the arms of the old moon or the new moon in the arms of the old moon,” pointing out that the brightness of the earth can only be seen with the naked eye and the best time to watch it is today, Saturday, immediately after sunset, indicating that the phenomenon will recur again. On the eighth of next February.
