It is a lighthouse project, but it will be on the test bench again next Tuesday, January 19, in the local council: The energy promotion program of the Seefeld community.

The Agenda working group “Alternative Energies” has requested its continuation.

Seefeld - The friends of the program don't really have to worry.

The signs are good that the municipal councils want to provide at least 75,000 euros in the budget in 2021 as well.

The Seefeld municipality's energy promotion program has existed since 1999.

Ernst Deiringer, today spokesman for the Energiewendeverein in Seefeld, initiated the project at the time as the SPD municipal council.

Every year he is rightly proud to present good numbers.

Last year, at almost 97,000 euros, the funding was the second highest value after 2015, when the municipality subsidized home builders and renovators with 97,000 euros.

Since the start of the program, the municipality has subsidized more than 450 measures with an average of around 60,000 euros per year.

"This saved 849 tons of CO2 every year," says Deiringer.

However, if the municipality wants to "reduce emissions to zero by 2035, a lot more renewable energies will have to be used in the areas of housing and transport".

In Seefeld, private builders invested in new photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems, in low-energy passive houses, regenerative heating systems and the energetic renovation of existing buildings.

“The positive effect of subsidizing photovoltaic systems on CO2 emissions should be emphasized,” says Deiringer.

“With 35.9 percent of the funds used for PV systems, a CO2 reduction of 62.3 percent in all funded measures was achieved in 2020.” This is the most effective component of the program, especially since PV modules now have a long service life.

18 systems were built in Seefeld in 2020 alone, says Deiringer, who also sees this as a success of the district's solar campaign.

However, there is still a lot of room for improvement in Seefeld.

The meeting of the municipal council begins at 7.15 p.m. in the Peter and Paul parish hall in Seefeld.
