This Saturday in a ceremony at the Casa Grande del Pueblo, the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, inaugurated Jeyson Auza as the new Minister of Health and Sports, after Edgar Pozo, the previous minister, left office for reasons of health.

"We value the decision of our former minister to step aside for health reasons to give the opportunity to another person who may be taking over the ministry and, therefore, respond in a timely manner to the demands of this health situation that we are experiencing" , said the Bolivian president.

For his part, Auza said that the task of controlling the pandemic is the responsibility of all Bolivians.

“This fight against the covid should not only focus on the health system.

No matter how much we do, without the leading participation of the Bolivian people we will be destined to fail, without everyone's conscience we will not be able to do a task as we would like, ”said Auza.

This Friday the Ministry of Health reported that the country adds a total of 183,589 cases of coronavirus and to date 9,571 people have died from causes related to covid-19.
