US police assigned to guard the Capitol building today arrested an armed man with false credentials for US President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration.
"CNN" quoted the American security services as saying that the police arrested a man from Virginia with false credentials for Biden's inauguration, a pistol and more than 500 rounds of bullets while trying to pass through a checkpoint in central Washington.
The American security sources indicated that they had made preparations to confront rallies supporting the outgoing President Donald Trump in the capitals of the fifty US states.
The FBI has also warned police agencies of possible armed protests in all state capitals, starting today and until Biden’s inauguration on the 20th of this month, which will be fueled by Trump supporters who believe in rigging the elections.
The sources indicate that among the states that have mobilized their National Guard to enhance security are Michigan, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Washington, while Texas closed the state's Congress building from today until the day of the inauguration.
