The Iranian Nuclear Energy Organization confirmed that it has not yet received the questionnaire information regarding the design of the metallic uranium plant from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The organization said in a statement today, in response to the statement of the European Troika, Germany, France and Britain that the issue of the metallic uranium production plant stipulated in the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan of the Nuclear Agreement, which the Islamic Consultative Council mandated the Iranian Nuclear Energy Organization with, differs completely from the issue of producing advanced silicid fuel for use in the research reactor. The statement pointed out that the program for the production of advanced fuel silicides stipulated in the last report of the International Atomic Energy Agency was initially sent more than two years ago to the IAEA, and the latter provided supplementary information throughout this period and in various stages.
The statement clarified that with regard to the production of silicon fuel, metallic uranium is a by-product in this process, from which it is transferred immediately and without stopping to the stage of producing advanced silicon fuel, expressing the organization's hope that the International Atomic Energy Agency will avoid referring to unnecessary details and work to prevent any occurrence.
