According to a report by The Washington Post, Vice President Mike Pence and his family were on the verge of encountering the violent agitators who seized the Capitol for several hours on January 6.

In its timeline, The Washington Post says that only a minute elapsed between the time they hid Pence and his family and the violent mob passing just yards from them.
