Following the tightening of enforcement of corona regulations over the weekend, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, 25 checkpoints will be set up to reduce traffic congestion on weekdays • They will be redeployed around 6 p.m. • 8,508 reports were distributed over the weekend for violations of the regulations

The deployment of police checkpoints will change starting tomorrow (Sunday), and will move to a tiered format of placing checkpoints for varying periods of time throughout the day.

The decision is made after the enforcement of corona regulations was tightened over the weekend.

The change will take the form of placing 25 checkpoints from 09:00 until 15:30, when they will be re-installed around 18:00.

In addition, skipping barriers will be placed within the localities themselves.

At the same time, the police intend to continue to conduct patrols and scans on long-distance routes using vehicles and motorcycles of the Traffic Division and also in the form of the use of helicopters and forces to operate in the field.

According to the police, the change is made in order to adjust the placement of checkpoints to "midweek" and to reduce traffic congestion and reduce the daily routine as much as possible: "All in order to allow traffic for a defined need and in particular fast drivers to essential jobs and back home."

As part of the tight closure that went into effect last week, the activities of businesses, trade and service providers are banned.

The education system has also closed (with the exception of special education), and restaurants only work in the form of deliveries.

However, the situation is different in cases of certain workplaces where the workers are necessary for the supply of a product or service and where full occupancy will be allowed and in factories providing subsistence services that have been recognized as such (where the full presence of the workers will be allowed).

Meanwhile, police announced that over the weekend, 8,508 reports were recorded for violations of corona regulations across the country. 6,869 of the reports were recorded for citizens who left their place of residence for an illegal purpose or action, 1,118 other reports were recorded for people who did not wear a mask. Of the fines were recorded for people who violated the isolation in which they were to be found and 87 reports were granted for various violations of businesses and 242 reports were recorded for people who were staying in a public place whose activities were prohibited.
