The Washington Post revealed that a number of armed demonstrators gathered in front of the Capitol building in Austin, Texas, in conjunction with a state of alert and preparedness witnessed by many American cities starting today to confront any protest movements prior to the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
The newspaper reported that the demonstrators collected weapons and other tools in the parking lot opposite the Capitol building before walking to the front gate of the building, noting that some of the protesters were wearing camouflage jackets, blue jeans and cowboy hats. Men were also seen carrying pistols, canisters, portable radios and cables.
The authorities in the American capital, Washington, announced earlier today to strengthen their security measures and close a number of its famous landmarks, with the establishment of checkpoints at the entrances to the city center in preparation for Biden's inauguration, where about 25,000 National Guard forces will be deployed in the capital to secure the inauguration ceremony, especially after the storming incident.
