He was a political veteran: Murnau's former Vice Mayor Hermann Stademann has now died at the age of 86.

  • Murnau's former deputy mayor Hermann Stademann died at the age of 86.

  • He was one of the most influential personalities of the past decades.

  • CSU politicians pay tribute to the well-deserved local politician.

Murnau

- On the occasion of his 80th birthday in 2014, Hermann Stademann looked back with great satisfaction.

“We have been able to get a lot of things off the ground that have now turned out well.” Stademann named the relief road, the pedestrian zone and the Kemmelpark.

He himself played a major role in these projects, and left his mark on Murnau.

Now Hermann Stademann, who sat on the market council for the CSU from 1978 to 2008 and was deputy mayor from 1996 to 2008, has died at the age of 86.

Close to the citizen and sociable

The master plumber was a sociable person, liked to be around people.

"He was very close to the citizen and very popular with the population," says his son Uwe.

He cannot list all the clubs in which his father was active, the son names a few important ones: TSV, motorsport club, ski club, beautification club, Kolping family, traditional costume club and golf club.

“He was quite active.” Hermann Stademann could also be found hiking in the mountains or on horseback.

In the Ski World Cup he competed in the men's downhill.

Mourning at the CSU local association

“He was a caring and loving father,” says Uwe Stademann.

Hermann Stademann's wife Elisabeth died last August.

That bothered him hard.

The fact that he himself has closed his eyes forever triggers grief in Murnau.

Also at the CSU local association.

"I saw him not only as a colleague and official," says the chairman, former Murnau mayor (2002 to 2014) and deputy mayor Dr.

Michael Rapp.

"For me he was a mentor, a very loyal companion and a friend." Stademann played a decisive role in the development of the place over the decades.

Rapp characterizes him as someone who has always “dealt with the concerns of the citizens with tireless efforts.

He was committed, level-headed, cordial, always modest - and sometimes loud. ”Stademann had been with the CSU since 1976.

Rapp knows: “Being a member of a party for 45 years is not always easy.” He and the CSU, Rapp, “mourn a loved one”.

His death leaves "a great void".

Great support

Harald Kühn, member of the CSU state parliament, can fully agree with this.

"Hermann Stademann was one of the most influential figures in Murnau's local politics in the last few decades." The market town owes him a lot.

“He was a stroke of luck for Murnau.” Kühn, City Hall chief from 1996 to 2002, saw him as a “good advisor and a fatherly friend”.

The deceased "had an idea of fundamental questions about local development" and was "a great help and support" in this regard.

In Kühn's words, Stademann “always had a view beyond the day”.

He calls him an "important companion".

"It was an excellent collaboration."

Man of clear words

The master craftsman was also a man of clear words, raising his voice when something did not suit him.

“He was a person with rough edges,” says Kühn.

Beuting pays tribute to the deceased

Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum) also praised the services of the local politician: “With a lot of energy, joy and passion he faced the issues of his time.

We will miss his friendly and balanced manner very much. ”The master plumber not only sat on the market council for a long time, but was also involved in the development of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district from 1984 to 2008 as a district councilor.

Quit with a good feeling

In 2008 he withdrew from the political scene.

"If I were to run again, I would have to continue until 80," he said at the time.

He was "a little poor health, but that is not the only reason," he announced.

“I have now done enough for the general public.” He quits “with a good feeling” - although the step is not easy for him.

“Politics is a part of my life.

I've always enjoyed doing that. "

Parental business taken over

In addition to his commitment to Murnau, there was the job.

In 1970 he took over the family business.

In 1984 he bought the oil maintenance company of Esso AG and founded Stademann und Schrod GmbH.

Under his leadership, a car wash was also built on Weilheimer Strasse.

Honored many times

He also held numerous honorary positions.

He was table tennis department head, TSV chairman, head master of the Oberland heating, sanitary and plumbing guild and honorary administrative judge.

For his achievements, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, the Murnau Citizens' Medal and the Market Ring of Honor.

He leaves three sons, three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
