The General Organization for Drinking Water and Sewerage in Damascus and its countryside installed a new well in the Al-Assad suburb in Damascus countryside to improve the drinking water situation there.
The director of the foundation, Eng. Samer Al-Hashemi, said in a statement to SANA that the new well No. 13 within the old Dahyat Al-Assad project and its abundance is more than 45 cubic meters per hour, so that the number of wells within the project put into service is 9 in addition to the presence of two wells that are being worked on to put them into service within a more abundant month. From 45 cubic meters per hour for each of them and two stopped wells, the depth of which is increased to increase the abundance, indicating that the well has been connected to the drinking water network after installing mechanical and electrical equipment and sterilization devices for it.
Al-Hashemi pointed out that there are another number of wells in the Damascus countryside, which will be put into service soon after securing electricity for them, in addition to wells under preparation to be put into service during the next two months.
The number of wells to be implemented in the old Dahiet Al-Assad project is 14 wells.
