A regional expert at the World Health Organization considered that Africa has surpassed Europe in designing, applying and using innovative technologies directed to combat and prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic.
According to the German magazine Der Spiegel, the health innovation expert at the African Office of the World Health Organization, Mordric Chibi, said: “The organization found that nearly a thousand new or modified technologies have been used in the fight against the Corona virus, 120 of them from Africa, including applications for contact tracking, self-diagnosis tools and a special Internet bot. WhatsApp ”.
He added: "Africa was at the forefront in using some applications to combat the Corona virus, for example Ghana started using an Internet bot application in April, while Germany in June."
He noted that in Zimbabwe, in order to prevent crossing the border with forged documents on the negative test about the virus, a group of young developers quickly digitized the verification process.
The total number of infections due to the new Corona virus in the world today reached 95 million and 40,333 cases, and two million and 32,750 deaths, while 67 million and 867,623 people have recovered from the disease, according to the American World Meter website.
