The Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny is back in his homeland.
According to information from the Reuters news agency, an airplane of the Russian company Pobeda with the number DP 936 landed at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport in the north-west of the capital at around 6.15 p.m. German time
.
According to plan, the plane should have landed at Wnukowo Airport, which is located to the southwest, but according to Pobeda it was temporarily blocked.
At Vnukovo Airport, the Russian authorities had previously massively tightened the security requirement.
Special police officers with dogs and batons marched in the entrance area, pushing people without plane tickets out of the airport building.
Several employees from Navalny had previously been removed.
The opposition politician himself is also threatened with arrest.
Just under five months ago, the critic of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin was the victim of a poison attack.
German doctors from the Charité in Berlin then saved his life.
