The number of forest plantings sold by the Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida from the beginning of the current season until its date reached 21,000, while the number of plantings distributed free of charge to administrative units, educational complexes and popular organizations to carry out afforestation campaigns reached 29 thousand plantings in addition to about 15 thousand plantings that were provided for the afforestation plan.
The head of the Forestry Department in the Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Anas Abu Fakhr, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the sold and distributed plantings include various types of forest, which contribute to increasing the area of green areas, pointing to the availability of good quantities of them after preparing more than 460 thousand plants for sale and distribution during the current season.
Engineer Abu Fakhr pointed out that, to date, the afforestation plan included 450 dunums in the sites of Abd Mar, Al Kars and Al Ain.
On the other hand, the Agricultural Cooperative Bank and its branches in Sweida today started selling the second batch of nitrogen fertilizer intended for wheat cultivation.
The bank's director, Eng. Nassim Hudayfa, stated in a similar statement that obtaining fertilizers requires the submission of physical detection documents issued by the extension units in which the farmer proves the cultivation of the entire organized area with wheat crops indicating that their sale is either in cash or under short-term loans without ceilings and at an interest of 10 percent to the private sector And 9% for cooperative, and a payment period of up to 300 days.
The areas planted with wheat in Sweida to date exceeded 26 thousand hectares.
