A 78-year-old man died in the ambulance that took him to hospital for dialysis this Saturday and the driver was seriously injured.

The difficult weather conditions on Saturday are the cause of the death of a 78-year-old man.

The snow-covered and therefore slippery road made it more difficult for an unlicensed and alcoholic driver to control his vehicle.

This Saturday around 5:25 pm, on the D228, near Boutigny, a 36-year-old craftsman, living in Taverny (Val d'Oise), veers to the left at the wheel of his Peugeot Expert.

A few more snowflakes fell, the red road was covered with snow since the department's services were concentrating on clearing the main roads, and he collided head-on a Ford Tourneo transformed into an ambulance.

The driver already convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol

Inside is a 78-year-old Bouleurs resident who goes to Meaux for dialysis.

The cardiac massages lavished by the emergency services failed to bring him back to life.

The driver, a 39-year-old woman living in Crécy-la-Chapelle, was transported to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital (Val-de-Marne), victim of multiple fractures.

The driver, whose alcohol test was positive, is in custody at the gendarmerie brigade of Crécy-la-Chapelle.

He has already been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and his license has been canceled.

The gendarmes also noted an inappropriate pace on his part this Saturday.
