A French judicial source announced that charges had been brought against five people suspected of being involved in a large arms trafficking operation in France in which military personnel were involved, bringing the number of suspects in this case to ten.
Agence France-Presse quoted the same source as saying that three people aged 29, 30 and 52 years were placed in preventive detention, while a soldier who was working at a base in eastern France and a former soldier would appear before an investigating judge in the coming days.
The representative of the Public Prosecution said that it was "a large file related to an exceptional stockpile of weapons and ammunition that was seized."
Last Tuesday, French police arrested ten people in the Paris region and the east and south of the country, who are suspected of supplying drug traffickers and supporters of the extreme right with weapons.
