The rainstorm in Tartous Governorate resulted in disproportionate damage to the electrical network in the various regions of the governorate and the sheltered homes in the Harisoun and Heisha areas.
The director of the Tartous Electricity Company, Eng. Abdel Hamid Mansour, stated in a statement to SANA that as a result of the prevailing weather conditions, some electrical grid lines were damaged due to strong air, lightning strikes and falling trees on the network in some locations.

In turn, the Director of Tartous Agriculture, Engineer Ali Yunus, explained that the rainstorm caused damage to the protected crops “greenhouses” in the Al-Hisha and Harisoun areas in the countryside of Banias, and that special committees were assigned to count the damage in the aforementioned areas, while the head of the Tartous Farmers Union, Mahmoud Mihoub, indicated that the damage is limited in Cultivations protected so far.
Tartous Governorate is witnessing heavy rains, reaching 97 mm in the city today, Sheikh Badr 67 mm, Ad Draikish 65 mm, Safita 35 mm, Mashta Al-Helou 34 mm, Baniyas 28 mm, Hammam Wasel 27 mm, and Al-Safsafa 19 mm.
