Joe Biden plans to take on the first day of his mandate a series of presidential decrees including the most urgent measures, but also the symbolic cancellation of certain decisions taken by Donald Trump.
His chief of staff, Ron Klain, announced in a memorandum intended for the future Administration but also sent to the American media, that the future president could sign these executive orders immediately after his swearing-in next Wednesday.
He explained that Biden will have to face four simultaneous crises,
"which overlap and worsen",
as soon as he is sworn in
: the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic crisis, to which are added the climate crisis and that of inequalities racial.
"President-elect Biden is committed to taking immediate action to start addressing these crises and getting our country back on its feet."
