Reutberg Monastery Brewery: Josefibock even without Josefifest

In all likelihood there will be no Josefifest on Reutberg this year either. But it is still brewed. And last year was not that bad in terms of beer sales.

In all likelihood there will be no Josefifest on Reutberg this year either.

But it is still brewed.

And last year was not that bad in terms of beer sales.

Sachsenkam -

August Maerz, CEO of the Reutberger Brewery, does seem a little wistful.

The Joseph Festival should have taken place from March 12th to 20th.

That this will be possible - the Lenggrieser no longer believes in that with a view to the Corona numbers.

For the second time in a row he will have to cancel the beer tent and the general assembly of the cooperative brewery.

Josefibock is ready and will be sold from Monday

Of course, brewing is still done on the Reutberg.

And the good news: The Josefibock is ready and will be sold from next Monday, January 18th.

As always, it shimmers amber in the glass.

Brewmaster Michael Pichler has brewed 900 hectoliters of strong beer.

That is only a little less than last year - despite closed restaurants and no prospect of beer tents.

The brewery was encouraged by sales of bottled beers last year.

“That was amazing,” says Maerz.

He believes that this is also due to the fact that buyers value regionality - “and quality”.

But requests are also increasing from other regions in Germany - for example from North Rhine-Westphalia, March reports.

“South Tyrol is also a good market for us.” All in all, believes the CEO, “it looks like a positive result for last year”.
