There have been a number of confirmed cases in Yau Tsim Mong District. The government has issued "quarantine orders" to even-numbered tenement houses at Nos. 20 to 26 Reclamation Street. All residents must be quarantined and will not be allowed to return home until January 29.

Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, said today (17th) that if residents recover and are discharged after being diagnosed, they can be admitted to the quarantine center or arrange their own accommodation, as some areas still need to be thoroughly cleaned.

However, Yau Tsim Mong District Councillor Ho Fu-wing pointed out that after recovering and being discharged from the hospital today (17th), residents of Reclamation Street did not know where to go, and did not know where to move into a quarantine center, and eventually had to rely on relatives and friends nearby.

In addition, residents had to be quarantined before the quarantine order took effect. In other words, even if the relevant person completed the 14-day quarantine before the quarantine order ended, when they asked whether the staff could stay in the quarantined hotel, the other party pointed out that there was no relevant arrangement.

The government issued a quarantine order to Nos. 20, 22, 24 and 26 of Reclamation Street earlier. No one is allowed to enter or leave the above-mentioned places until permission is granted. The order is valid until 11:59 pm on the 28th of this month.

Today, a reporter asked Zhang Zhujun what the authorities would do if the patient was discharged before the end of the quarantine order. At that time, she responded, “I know how much Yau Ma Tei is. Clean thoroughly once, and then move in and live in the residents first, so if you leave the hospital, you can arrange a place to live and then you can enter the quarantine center."

However, Yau Tsim Mong District Councillor Ho Fu-wing said that there are Nepalese people living under the quarantine order who were diagnosed and admitted to the hospital earlier. When they recovered and discharged today, they did not know that they could be admitted to the quarantine center. Later they found that they could not go home. Take refuge in nearby relatives and friends.

He said that he had been in contact with two similar cases and criticized the authorities for the chaotic arrangements. The hospital itself knows that the two are living under the quarantine order. If the authorities can arrange for them to be admitted to the quarantine center, they should take the initiative to propose relevant arrangements.

Some residents will complete the quarantine but the residence quarantine order has not been completed

He Furong also pointed out that some residents had to stay in quarantine hotels before the quarantine order took effect, and the quarantine would be completed within a few days, but the quarantine order had not yet ended, that is, they were still unable to return home.

He continued to point out that some people in quarantine had inquired with the on-site civil security team personnel whether they could continue to stay in the hotel before the quarantine order ended, but the other party stated that there was no relevant arrangement.

He said that some residents are now at a loss and believe that the authorities should explain how to make arrangements as soon as possible.
