A Thai university announced a new project to reuse discarded smartphones instead of educational microscopes in schools across the country without scientific equipment.
Chulalongkorn University stated in a statement on its official website today that it will work, in cooperation with the Thai Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, to modify and restore 500 old smartphones donated by Samsung Electronics and convert them into educational microscopes, by using (CU SmartLense) technology, which was invented by the doctoral professor. In the Department of Chemistry, College of Science (Sanong Akasi).
She pointed out that the aim of the project is to promote equal access to quality education for all students in Thailand by reusing old equipment in marginalized schools.
Experts from the university explained that this wonderful project helps students and motivates them towards innovation and creativity and reduces waste, as it invests the smart phone to increase the elements with 50-fold laboratories in addition to encouraging other universities to inspire the idea and develop and develop it.
