For three days, they have only been eight - including five Europeans - to be in the running to succeed Mexican Angel Gurria at the head of the OECD, which is finishing his third five-year term.
It is up to the 37 Member States to reach a consensus by March 1.
After a long selection process, the new Secretary General of the OECD is scheduled to take office in May.
After the auditions phase in December, a first round took place last week - each country sent the selection committee its ranking, which remained confidential.
In the end, the two Czech and Polish contenders were forced to throw in the towel.
The Greek candidate, Anna Diamantopoulou, believes in her chances.

Originally from a small country in the South, she is a woman, where the current leadership of the OECD is made up entirely of men, mostly from the north or south of America.
