Several regions of Lebanon, especially Nabatiyeh and Iqlim al-Tuffah, witnessed heavy rains last night and this morning with strong storms, as the falling water formed swamps in agricultural lands, while the torrents washed away dust and gravel to the roads.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported today that the floods swept through some shops in the towns of Tul, Marj Harouf and Zebdeen, as water entered a number of homes in the towns of Dweir, Harouf and Sharqiya, and the water level rose in the Arabsalim River and at the Sayyida Zubaida Bridge, which connects the Nabatiyeh region with the Iqlim al-Tuffah.
Al-Tasa spring also witnessed a noticeable rise in its level, and its sides overflowed with flowing water.
Sidon and Tire also witnessed heavy rains accompanied by strong winds without causing any damage, while fishermen stopped leaving their boats due to the prevailing weather conditions.
The rains fell in Zahle, Chtaura, Taalabaya and Farzol Road, in addition to Beirut and its suburbs, without any damage reported.
