The Ministry of Health announced today (Sunday) the agreement it signed with Pfizer regarding the transfer of epidemiological information in exchange for the supply of vaccines against Corona to the State of Israel.
The document details the data that will be provided, for how long it will be kept.
The parts concerning the total amount of vaccines that will arrive in Israel and the company's responsibility for the consequences and side effects - have been blacked out.

What information will the Ministry of Health provide to the company?
According to the agreement, the Ministry of Health will provide Pfizer with the details it updates the public: the number of corona patients verified in Israel, symptomatic patients, the number of hospitalized, patients in critical condition, respiratory patients and the number of dead.
The ministry will also provide additional information regarding vaccine recipients, which includes, among other things, a weekly analysis of vaccine recipients by subgroup.
Additional subgroup analyzes and vaccine efficacy analyzes, as well as number of infections per week by age groups and other demographics.

What is the purpose of the experiment?
The aim of the project is to measure and analyze epidemiological data resulting from the launch of the product to determine whether herd immunity is achieved after reaching a certain percentage of vaccine coverage in Israel.
The parties agree that the project is intended to produce vaccine efficacy data at the population level, which are necessary for public health purposes and may notify technical guidelines for vaccines worldwide.
The project and measuring the impact of the product on the level of morbidity in the population, relies on the receipt of the products, in accordance with the terms of the production and supply agreement.

How long will the information be kept?
The information will be kept for 15 years at the Ministry of Health, but will be available to Pfizer throughout the period.
Where will the information be stored?
Each week, the Ministry of Health will provide the company with information on the number of people infected with the virus detected in Israel, the number of people hospitalized, including the number of patients in critical and critical condition, and the number of patients in need of respirators.
General but unidentified information was also passed on about the vaccinated, such as ages and place of residence.
How many vaccines will come in total?
The agreement released by the Ministry of Health contains parts that have been blacked out for commercial reasons, including the amount of vaccines that will arrive in total, as well as the part that addresses Pfizer's responsibility for the long-term implications and consequences for vaccinators and long-term side effects.
