According to the case, Xie placed the wallet on the TV cabinet on the second floor of his home on January 9 this year. There was HK$20,000 in cash in the wallet.
On the 14th of the same month, Xie found that the 6,000 Hong Kong dollar in the wallet was missing. She did not call the police immediately, but the defendant disappeared the next day.
The police intercepted the defendant at Chungking Mansion two days later.
