The Minister of Internal Security, Amir Ohana, today (Monday) approved the round of appointments to the police command staff, following the recommendation of the Commissioner of Police, Superintendent Kobi Shabtai. To permanent, after two years with a deputy chief of police.

Superintendent David Bitan (61), who currently serves as the Tel Aviv District Commander, will be appointed Deputy Superintendent of the Israel Police. Bitan holds a bachelor's degree in cultural studies, a bachelor's degree in political science, a bachelor's degree in law and a master's degree in education administration. Logistics Planning Division, Deputy Commander of the Southern District and Commander of the Youth Training Center. 

Superintendent Amichai Eshed (54), who currently serves as commander of the Central District, will be appointed commander of the Tel Aviv district.

Eshed holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in Middle Eastern history.

From his last positions: Deputy Commander of the Jerusalem District, Commander of the Youth Training Center, Commander of the Command and Staff Course at the National Police College, Commander of the Netanya Station. 

Superintendent Moshe Barkat (54), who currently serves as commander of the SJ District, will be appointed commander of the Central District. Barkat holds a bachelor's degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies and a master's degree in criminology. His most recent positions: Minister of Defense. . 

Superintendent Peretz Amar (59), who currently serves as commander of the Hof district, will be appointed commander of the southern district.

Amar holds a bachelor's degree in education studies and a master's degree in education administration.

From his last positions: Deputy Commander of the Southern District, Commander of the Negev Region, Officer of the Operations Division of the Southern District, Deputy Commander of the Negev Region. 

Superintendent Yoram Sofer (56), who currently serves as the commander of the Southern District, will be appointed commander of the Coastal District.

Author holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in social sciences and the National Security College.

From his last positions: Deputy Commander of the SJ District, R. Director of the Light Rail, Commander of the Police School and Commander of the Lachish Area.

Brigadier General Doron Turgeman (51), who currently serves as commander of the Kedem area, will be appointed commander of the Jerusalem district and will be promoted to the rank of non-commissioned officer.

Turgeman holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in business administration.

From his last positions: Commander of the David Region in the Jerusalem District, Commander of the Netanya Station and Commander of the Lod Station in the Central District.

Brigadier General Amir Cohen (50), who currently serves as Rabbi of the Israel Police Training Division, will be appointed commander of the Border Police and will be promoted to the rank of non-commissioned officer.

Cohen holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences, a master's degree in business administration and the National Security College.

His most recent positions: Commander of the Ben Gurion Airport Area in the Central District, Chief of the Operations Division at the Border Police and Deputy Commander of the Northern Border Area. 

Lt. Col. Uzi Levy (62), who currently serves as Deputy Commander of the Border Police, will be appointed Commander of the SJ District and will be promoted to the rank of Chief of Staff. Levy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in Judaism. In the north, deputy commander of the Judea and Samaria Border Area and commander of the Border Police's undercover unit in Judea and Samaria.

Lt. Col. Boaz Goldberg (57), who currently serves as Deputy Chief of the Traffic Division, will be appointed head of the Human Resources Division and will be promoted to the rank of non-commissioned officer.

Goldberg holds a bachelor's degree in political science, a master's degree in humanities and social sciences and the National Security College.

His most recent positions: Commander of the Mapa (Director of Coordination and Supervision of Enforcement), Deputy Commander of the Coastal Area and Commander of the Hadera Station. 

Mr. Danny Kribo (56), who has served since 2005 as Deputy General Manager and Rabbi of the Budget and Control Planning Division in the Ministry of Public Works, will be appointed Acting Rabbi of the Police Planning Division.

Karibo holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations and a master's degree in public policy.

In the past, he served as the Chief Planning, Budgeting and Control Division in the Ministry of Public Works and in other positions in the Budget Division of the Ministry of Finance and the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies.
