Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham announced on a public agency blog on Monday that he will step down from the post to which he was
appointed by President Donald Trump
next Wednesday.
Dillingham's departure comes after several
controversies related to the handling of the 2020 Census data,
which have to do with information on foreigners, including undocumented immigrants.
“Last week, the Inspector General (IG) sent me strongly worded questions regarding a request for information to professional Census Bureau analysts by one or two assigned members of the Administration,” Dillingham said.

“The request was for certain administrative data to improve the estimates of the population categories.
