Participants in the hypothetical international conference of parliaments of states defending Palestine, which is being held by the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly within the framework of support and solidarity with the Palestinian people, stressed the need to confront the ongoing US-Israeli plots and plans against the Arab and Islamic nations, foremost of which is aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.

The head of the Iranian Shura Council, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, warned in a speech during the launch of the conference today against the continuation of these conspiracies in parallel with the targeting of the Palestinian cause through the so-called (deal of the century), referring to the close relationship between Zionism and terrorism that has manifested itself in recent years in Syria.

Qalibaf explained that the Israeli occupation’s continuing crimes against the Palestinians through killing, arresting, demolishing homes and facilities in the West Bank, and continuing its unjust siege on more than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for 14 years is a painful human catastrophe amidst suspicious international silence and ignorance that will not be erased from the memory of history, stressing that The Council seeks to use parliamentary diplomacy to achieve the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, which they will not abandon.

Qalibaf called on the parliaments supporting the Palestinian cause to mobilize their energies with the aim of conveying the voices of the Palestinians to the whole world, stressing that the Palestinian issue is the issue of the 21st century for the Islamic world and there is no issue more important than the liberation of Jerusalem.

For his part, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, reaffirmed his country's commitment to the Palestinian cause and the adoption of the rights of the Palestinian people to return to their land and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Berri pointed out the importance of continuing the pressure to stop the Israeli settlements on Palestinian land, which increased after the so-called (deal of the century), stressing the need to make efforts for the unity of the Palestinian ranks as the cornerstone of the Palestinian national project in resistance, liberation and return.

Berri warned of the danger of the Israeli conspiracy against the health sector for the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as well as in the West Bank and the occupied territories due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, calling on the international community to condemn any Israeli attempt that uses the health address as a weapon of blackmail, as this constitutes a new terrorist crime to be added to the Israeli terrorist record.

In turn, the Iraqi Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bashir Haddad, expressed his country's condemnation of the daily violence and violations committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories, again his country's position in support of the Palestinian people and its endeavor to end the occupation.

Haddad called on the international community to take practical and realistic measures to support the Palestinian people, to stop the Israeli attacks on the Palestinians, and to confront the attempt to Judaize Jerusalem.
