Hama-sana
The quantities of wheat seeds sifted and sterilized in the branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Hama amounted to 24 thousand and 500 tons, compared to the sifting and sterilization of 5500 tons of barley seeds.
The director of the institution's branch in Hama, Eng. Abdul-Ghani Al-Aswad, explained to SANA's correspondent that the sifting and sterilization operations are carried out with the main sieve in Kafarbham, with a production capacity of 150 tons per day and an agricultural machinery sieve with a capacity of 50 tons of seeds per day.
He pointed out that the branch received 9,875 tons of wheat seeds to the branches of the Agricultural Bank, in addition to shipping 4,033 tons to the governorates, in addition to supplying 1,500 tons of barley seeds to the Agricultural Bank in Salamiyah and shipping 1,320 tons to the provinces.
Al-Aswad stated that the branch handed over the entire contracted quantity with the International Committee of the Red Cross, amounting to 2,800 tons of wheat and barley seeds, after sifting and sterilizing them to be ready for cultivation in order to distribute them as a grant to smallholders through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch.
Al-Aswad indicated that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations "FAO" had delivered about 600 tons of wheat seeds.
