The Eichenauer Frauen-Union (FU) has again a new idea of how to get together in the Corona crisis without actually doing this: by cooking.

The FU has now published a recipe book that several generations have worked on.

Eichenau - If you will, Eichenau's Women's Union (FU) has found a taste for writing books.

This time it's a cookbook: 41 members between 22 and 90 years of age have submitted recipes in “Family Treasures - Tasty Food for Body and Soul”.

In the summer of just last year, the FU members had written down their thoughts on the corona crisis.

This time, the pandemic played a role insofar as the Eichenau women wanted to distract themselves a little from lockdown, mask requirements and exit restrictions.

That was also successful.

"With some of them, the children or grandchildren snipped along while trying out recipes," says FU chairman Christiane Koallick, who came together for the cookbook.

"Cooking brings something like a sense of community."

The specifications for the new printing unit somehow fit in with the times.

"It shouldn't be the very elaborate things and recipes for every season," explains Koallick.

“Nothing in the kitchen for several hours.” The ingredients shouldn't be too expensive and preferably come from the region.

The result is impressive: there is a chicken fricassee, fish pots, meat loaf rolls and pumpkin muffins.

If you like, you can try the “Älplermagrone mit Ankestückli”.

All of this can be read in the FU's cookbook, the proceeds of which are intended to serve a social cause.

In the case of the “Corona book”, these were the Seniors Foundation Sonnenstrahl, the women's shelter in the Fürstenfeldbruck district and children from Eichenau asylum seeker families.

A first swing before Christmas raised 1190 euros.

“We want to continue selling until February,” announced Koallick.

But in contrast to the "Corona book", the distribution of this work is already more difficult - if only because the bookstores have also closed due to the lockdown.

"We would have loved to support them again," said Koallick.

But now, despite “Click and Collect”, a lot has to go online, also through a major provider.

Nevertheless, the personal approach should be preserved.

If you want, you can order the book directly from the FU chairman by email: koallick@gmx.de.

In this way, the modalities of how interested parties can get the book are communicated.
