The Israeli government has issued tenders for the construction of more than 2,500 new housing units in Israeli settlements on the eve of Joe Biden's swearing-in at the White House, revealed overnight Tuesday to Wednesday the NGO Peace Now.

The Israeli government published Tuesday, January 19 these calls for tenders for construction permits for a total of 2,572 units, or 2,112 in the West Bank and 460 others in East Jerusalem, the eastern part of the Holy City annexed by Israel but whose Palestinians hope to make the capital of a future state, the organization said in a statement.
