During a press conference organized on Tuesday, January 19, the Besançon prosecutor Étienne Manteaux confirmed that he had requested the dismissal of the Chilean Nicolas Zepeda for the assassination of the Japanese Narumi Kurosaki.
What he had already indicated on Monday.

If the investigating judge in charge of the case follows the requisitions of the public prosecutor, a trial will take place before the Assize Court of Doubs, probably at the end of 2021, that is to say five years after the disappearance of the young woman in Besançon.
If the qualification of “assassination” was retained, Nicolas Zepeda would then risk life imprisonment.
The suspect denies being involved
Narumi Kurosaki, 21, has not given any sign of life since December 4, 2016. That evening, the young woman had dinner with her former partner Nicolas Zepeda, then the two young people spent part of the night together. .
Residents of the student residence testified that they heard screams.
No one has ever seen Narumi again.
For his part, after spending several years in his country, the 29-year-old young man was extradited to France in July 2020, then, in the process, indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.
He categorically denies having played a role in the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend.
