As part of the artificial afforestation plan for the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture in Daraa, 199 hectares of land have been afforested with 114,685 varied plants this season.
The head of the Forestry Department, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, stated in a statement to the SANA reporter today that afforestation work included various sites in Qara, private universities, Al-Yarmouk suburb, Zweitina, Alaqin, Tal Al-Harrah and others, indicating that the department's nursery in Farm has produced 261 thousand different forest plantings this season.
He added that the sales and distribution of seedlings to citizens and official departments are continuing, indicating that the department distributed free of charge this season 10440 forest seedlings to official departments and sold to citizens at a symbolic price of 6926 seedlings.
The plantings are available in the nursery of the Department of Forestry in Bazra, with excellent quality and reduced prices, up to 200 Syrian pounds for a small forest plant, 300 for the middle bag, and 600 Syrian pounds for a large bag.
